OnGuard/BASIS Software installed on New Computer does not work as expected. Panels do not come online or download, and encoders do not work.

When the software is installed on a new computer or the computer named is changed, additional places within BASIS/OnGuard software have to be updated to reflect the change in the computer name.

  1. Workstation name for the access panels

    • Login to System Administration
    • Click on the Access Control drop-down menu
    • Click on the Workstation option in the drop-down menu
    • Click on the Offline tab
    • Click on the Modify button
    • Update the workstation name to match the new computer name.
    • Click on the ok button to save the changes.
  2. Update the workstation name for the peripherals such as encoders/scanners

    • Login to System Administration
    • Click on the Administration Drop-down menu
    • Click on the Workstation option
    • Click on the Add button
    • Add the new workstation name which is the computer name.
    • Click on the OK button to save the changes.
    • Click on the encoders/scanners tab.
    • Update the workstation name for the encoder. Click on the encoder in the list and click the Modify button.
    • Update the workstation name in the encoder.
    • Click the OK button to save the changes.
