Can WiFi repeaters be used instead of additional portal gateways to extend the WAMS network?

No, the portal gateways do not communicate on the same protocol stack as the WiFi used for internet access. Additionally, the portals have memory that is used to send and receive data from the controllers and the server.

Applies To

WAMS, Portal Gateways, 3.0 Firmware, All versions of WMS

Additional Information

To add on to the WAMS network, please have a sight survey competed to place portals and Omnidirectional antennas at an optimal location for communication with controllers.
